About
RXnotify meets the need for a simple, automated way to notify patients when a prescription has been sent while also offering potential savings to encourage medication adherence.
Why is it needed?
Patients often experience uncertainty after a provider submits a prescription, leading to unnecessary follow-up calls to their doctor’s office or pharmacy. They may not know when their prescription has been sent, where it’s going, or if there are available cost-saving options. Providers, in turn, face increased administrative burden from patient inquiries about prescription status and pricing, diverting time away from patient care.
How does it work?
RXnotify delivers SMS notifications to patients when their provider submits a prescription. If a discount coupon is available for their medication, RXnotify will include a link to help them save on their prescription costs.
RXnotify is not part of the RXNT app or the MyRXNT app.
Patients can access RXnotify on their mobile device or a computer. See what the tool looks like in the tabs below!
If SMS is selected as one of the patient's preferred contact methods in the EHR/ERX products, the unique RXnotify link gets sent to the patient's mobile device when your practice has submitted a prescription to their pharmacy.
If SMS is selected as one of the patient's preferred contact methods, and their cell phone number is not entered, the patient will not receive RXnotify links. Additionally, if the patient's preferred contact method(s) do not include SMS, they will not receive RXnotify links. If your patient's are interested in prescription engagement text messages, please ensure their preferred contact method is updated accordingly.
The text message will look something like this:
The user will enter their date of birth, then tap Submit.
The patient's pharmacy will be listed at the top, along with two action icons. The patient can use the icons to do the following:
- View their pharmacy's location
- Contact the pharmacy
Prescriptions sent for the patient will be detailed below.
