Patient Bill Pay Through RXNT Digital Check-In

The Digital Check-In makes managing payments simple and convenient, giving patients a seamless way to take care of their financial responsibilities as part of the check-in process. Patients can securely review and pay outstanding balances, copays, or required deposits directly through the digital check-in, helping them complete check-in quickly and get ready for their appointment with less hassle.

Available starting Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026, RXNT’s Patient Bill Pay will be enhanced to make managing and paying medical bills easier, faster, and more convenient. Patients can securely review their balances, make payments online, and manage their payment information, all in one streamlined experience. This release is being gradually rolled out and will be available to all customers in the coming weeks.

Outstanding balance

Depending on the appointment type, patients may be asked to pay a copay or required deposit as part of the check-in process. Payment requirements are configured by appointment type in Utilities within the Scheduling application

Make sure you are signed up for Payment Processing so that your patients can process credit card payments.

Select charges and payment amounts

Once patients have verified their demographic and insurance information and completed any required consent or intake forms, they’ll be prompted to securely manage their payment through the Patient Bill Pay screen, when payment is required.

Patient info

On the Appointment Digital Check-in screen, the patient will review their information  and confirm that all details are correct.

  • Name: This field cannot be edited. If an update is required, contact the provider’s office.
  • Date of Birth: This field cannot be edited. If an update is required, contact the provider’s office.
  • Address: This field can be edited if the patient’s address needs to be updated.
  • Contact Information: This field cannot be edited. If an update is required, contact the provider’s office.
  • Communication Preferences: This field can be edited if the patient’s communication preferences have changed.

Patients will tap Continue to proceed to the next step.

Forms

Patients will complete all required forms before continuing with the check-in process.

All forms that require completion are displayed on the screen. In this example, the patient has 2 forms to complete: the Patient Consent and Patient Intake forms.

If no forms are required, the patient will be taken directly to the Pay Bill screen.

Patients can tap the form name or Open Forms to open the first form that requires completion.

For the Consent Form, the patient should tap the checkbox to confirm that they have read and agree to sign the form electronically. Then, the patient should enter their name in the Patient/Guardian Signature field and tap Sign to complete the form.

The patient will automatically be taken to the next form, the Patient Intake Form. Review the information and make any necessary updates, then tap Complete to proceed.

The number of forms remaining is displayed in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Payment

The payment screen displays the patient appointment details, including:

  • Total balance
  • Provider
  • Date(s) of service
  • Service type
  • Appointment time
  • Balance due for each date of service
  • CPT codes and a brief description
If the patient made a payment within the last 24 hours, the balance may not reflect the recent payment.

When a payment is required for the appointment, it will be displayed and selected by default under Required Payments and cannot be deselected. In this example, the patient is required to pay their Copay amount.

If the patient has a credit card on file, it will be selected by default. If the patient has multiple cards on file, their first card used to process a payment will be selected by default.

If multiple cards are saved to the patient’s account, the patient can set any card as their default payment method. They can tap the three dots next to the card they want to use, then select Set as Default

If the patient needs to use a different card, they can tap Add New Card to enter new payment information.

The patient enters their card information and billing address

The patient then taps Save or Submit Payment to process. To set the card as the default payment method, the patient taps the checkbox next to Set as Default Card.

If the patient has additional balances, the Pay Towards Balance checkbox will be selected by default, and all outstanding balances will be selected for payment. If the patient wants to pay only the required payment, they can deselect the Pay Towards Patient Balance checkbox.

If the patient wants to make a partial payment toward an outstanding balance, they can enter the desired amount in the Pay field. In this example, the patient has an outstanding balance of $25 for one date of service but wants to pay only $15.

After reviewing the required payment amount and selecting any additional balance payments, the patient taps Submit Payment to complete your payment.

A Payment Submitted & Check-in Completed confirmation will appear, including the patient’s appointment details, payment details, and any remaining balance.

If the patient would like to email a copy of the receipt, they can tap Email Receipt, enter the email address, and tap Send. Once finished, the patient can tap I’m Done to complete the check-in process.
