Application Login Preferences help you tailor how each user accesses and works within the system. They make it possible to customize login settings, such as default views, system behavior, and workflow options, based on a user’s specific role or job function.

These preferences are particularly useful in organizations with multiple user roles. For instance, clinical staff, front desk teams, and billing personnel can each have a setup that aligns with their daily tasks. By minimizing the need for repeated adjustments and guiding users to the most relevant areas upon login, these settings promote greater efficiency, consistency, and a smoother overall user experience.

To begin, click Utilities.

Then select Preferences, and click App Login Preferences. This screen controls how certain features behave when you log into the system.

Choose the appropriate user from the dropdown menu. This step is important because preferences can be set at the individual user level. For example, if you select a front desk user, their appointment view settings may differ from a billing staff member who doesn’t need to see scheduling details.

In the App Login Preference Type section, you’ll see a list of settings that can be customized. These options control default behaviors in the application. Select the preference you want to modify.

Then, in the Value section, use the dropdown menu to choose the desired setting. For instance:

  • If you set “Show Rescheduled Appointments” to “No,” rescheduled appointments will not appear by default when the calendar loads.
  • Similarly, setting “Show Canceled Appointments” to “No” hides canceled appointments from the default view.

Even when both are set to “No,” the system does not permanently remove these appointments from view. Instead, the “Rescheduled” and “Canceled” status filters on the appointment calendar will remain unchecked. This gives users flexibility, if they need to review those appointments later (for example, to track cancellations for reporting or follow up with patients), they can simply check those statuses in the filter to display them.
