Copays and deposits

Depending on your practice’s setup, you may be required to pay a copay or deposit when scheduling an appointment through the portal.

Once you’ve selected your desired appointment time, review the appointment details.

If you only have one insurance case, it will be selected automatically by default. If you have multiple insurance cases, you’ll be prompted to select the insurance case you want to associate with the appointment. In this example, the patient has only one insurance case, so it is automatically selected and cannot be deselected.

Tap Continue to proceed.

If the appointment requires a payment at the time of scheduling, you must complete the required payment before the appointment can be scheduled. The appointment copay or deposit amount will be displayed in the Required Payment section and selected automatically and cannot be deselected. In this example, a copay payment is required to schedule the appointment.

If you have an outstanding balance on your account, it will be displayed and selected by default under Additional Payment

If you only have an outstanding balance, you’ll be directed to Patient Bill Pay to review your balance. However, payment toward an outstanding balance is not required to schedule your appointment. You can select Skip Payment to continue with the scheduling process without making a payment.

If you want to pay toward your balance, keep Pay Towards Patient Balance selected. If you want to pay a specific charge or a portion of the balance, you can select the desired charge and enter the amount you want to pay in the Pay field.

You can deselect it if you don’t want to make a payment toward your balance at this time.

Credit Card is selected by default as it is the only available payment method. If you have one card on file, it will be selected automatically. If you have multiple cards on file, your default card will be selected.

If you need to add a new card, tap Add New Card

If you don’t have a card on file, you’ll be prompted to enter your card information, name, and billing address
