Overview
Starting on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, filters controlling the information included in your patient’s CCD file will no longer appear at the top of the Chart Summary page.
After January 24th, when accessing the Chart Summary navigation from a patient’s dashboard, the following information will be displayed by default:
Filtering Options
Now, to filter CCD information, click the SEND button on the right-hand side and select one of the options from the dropdown: View, Fax, Download CCD, or Email CCD. Depending on your selection, a different pop-up window will open, which functions as the control center for filtering PHI on the final document.
View
Select one of the Summary Options, set a Time Period, and select which USCDI Elements you’d like to include. If things look correct, click the Continue button to proceed.
The CCD will open after you click continue.
Fax
Select one of the Summary Options, select a specific Fax Option, set a Time Period, and select which USCDI Elements you’d like to include. If things look correct, click the Continue button to proceed.
Another window containing faxing options will open after you click Continue. Make sure to fill in the “To” and “Attention To” fields, and Include a Cover Sheet or Fax File if necessary. Click Send.
Download CCD
This pop-up window is very similar to the “View” option. Select one of the Summary Options, set a Time Period, and select which USCDI Elements you’d like to include. If things look correct, click the Continue button to proceed.
After clicking Continue, the Chart Summary will display a CCD Zip File Password at the top. Another pop-up window for the Archive Utility will open. To download, enter the password and click OK.
Important to note: The Archive Utility pop-up may take a few minutes to load.
Email CCD
This pop-up window is very similar to the “View” and “Download” options. Select one of the Summary Options, set a Time Period, and select which USCDI Elements you’d like to include. If things look correct, click the Continue button to proceed.
The Message pop-up window will open after you click Continue. Make sure to fill in the “From,” “To,” “Subject,” and “Message” fields, and include an Attachment if necessary. Click Send Message.
A “Message sent successfully” notification will display when complete.
